Iranian Qari Recites Quran in Int’l Quds Say Rally in Turkey
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Prominent Iranian Qari Seyed Mohammad Javad Mousavi Dorchei recited verses from the Quran at the beginning of a rally in Turkey, marking the International Quds Day.
People in cities across the world, including Muslim countries held demonstrations yesterday, the last Friday of the Holy month of Ramadan, in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
One of the demonstrations, organized in a Turkish city, began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Mousavi Dorchei.
The International Quds Day is an annual event during which demonstrators express their solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposition to the occupation of the Palestinian territories by the Zionist regime of Israel.
The day is also seen as the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who officially declared the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day back in 1979.
