Veteran Iranian Quran Master Dies

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A veteran Quran master from Iran’s northeastern holy city of Mashhad died on Sunday morning.

 

Kazem Mohammadzadeh died at the age of 64.

Born in 1955, Mohammadzadeh began attending Quranic sessions and learning the Holy Book at an early age.

Soon he became a known Quran activist and won several titles in national and international Quran competitions.

They included winning the national Quran contest several times in the 1970s and 80s, bagging the top prize in Libya’s international Quran competition in 1979 and ending runner up in Malaysia’s international Quran contest in 1985.

He was a member of the Quran Council of Astan Quds Razavi and regularly held Quranic sessions gathering the city’s Quran activists together.
