TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran’s representative in Tunisia’s 17th international Quran competition said he is wel prepared to show good performance at the contest.

 

Hossein Poorkavir told IQNA that his turn to go on the stage and answer the arbiters’ questions will probably be Monday.

He is competing in the category of memorization of the entire Quran.

Poorkavir said that given the participation of Quran memorizers and reciters from countries like Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia and Kuwait, the level of the competition is expected to be high.

The international Quranic event got underway in the Tunisian capital on Saturday and will run until December 13.

Members of the panel of judges are Quran experts from the host country as well as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Syria and Algeria.
