TEHRAN (IQNA) – Winners of a Quran competition for school students in Egypt’s Sharm El-Sheikh were honored in a ceremony on Saturday.

At the ceremony, 175 boys and girls who had won the top titles in different categories were awarded, al-Yawm al-Sabi news website reported.

The competition was held earlier in the day.

Students aged 5 to 15 took part in the contest, competing at different levels of Quran memorization.

Egypt is a country in North Africa with a population of around 96 million.

Muslims account for around 90 percent of the country’s total population.
