Memorial Services for Martyr Soleimani Planned in Tehran, Qom
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A memorial service will be held at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Housseiniya (religious center) in Tehran for Lt. General Qassem Soleimani, a top Iranian commander who was assassinated in a US airstrike in Baghdad on Friday.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei will attend the event on Thursday morning.
According to the Leader’s website, another memorial service for the martyr is planned to be held at the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) in Qom on Thursday evening.
General Soleimani, deputy head of Iraq’s Hashd al-Shaabi Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and a number of their entourage were killed in the strike.
The White House and the Pentagon claimed responsibility for the assassination of General Soleimani in Iraq, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of US President Donald Trump.
