Quran Institutes to Reopen in Iran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The National Headquarters for Fighting Coronavirus greenlighted reopening of Quran institutes in Iran.

 

Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyed Abbas Salehi has sent a letter to the committee, asking for permission for opening the institutes as well as cultural and art centers again after more than two months of closure due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The headquarters gave its approval and it was decided that they will reopen as of Saturday, June 13, on the condition that the health protocols and instructions are fully observed.

Those going to the institutes and centers are required to wear face masks and protective gloves and maintain proper social distance.

They should also have access to sanitizers, ISNA reported.

The coronavirus outbreak that originated in Wuhan, China, has infected nearly 7 million people around the world and killed more than 402,000.

In Iran, more than 132,000 coronavirus positive cases have recovered from the infectious disease, the Health Ministry spokesman said Saturday.

Kianoosh Jahanpoor put the death toll from the coronavirus in Iran at 8,209.

The total number of those infected with the disease in the country as of Saturday was 169,425.
