UAE Betrayed Muslim World: Leader
“The UAE betrayed the world of Islam, Arab nations, the region’s countries, and Palestine. Of course, this betrayal won’t last long,” Ayatollah Khamenei said during a meeting via a videoconference with the directors and heads of the Education Ministry departments on Tuesday.
“The UAE rulers opened the door to the region to the Zionists, and they have ignored and normalized the question of Palestine, which is a question about the usurpation of a country. This stigma will remain on them,” the Leader said, Khamenei.ir reported.
“The nation of Palestine is under various, severe pressures. Then, the UAE cooperates with the Israelis and the filthy US agents - such as the Zionist in Trump’s family - against the interests of the world of Islam and commits the greatest atrocity against it.
“I hope the UAE wakes up soon and compensates for what they’ve done.”
Israel and the UAE on August 13 reached a deal that will lead to a full normalization of diplomatic relations between the two sides, in an agreement apparently brokered by US President Donald Trump.
According to the accord, Israeli and UAE delegations are to hold meetings and sign bilateral agreements covering sectors including investment, tourism and direct flights and the opening of reciprocal embassies.
On Monday, the first direct flight between Israel and the United Arab Emirates entered the Saudi airspace before landing in Abu Dhabi.
