TEHRAN (IQNA) – The closing ceremony of the 6th Arbaeen International Award will be held on October 6.

According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the organization’s headquarters in Tehran will host the ceremony.

ICRO has organized the Arabeen Award since 2014 with the aim of reflecting the manifestations of this international religious event to the world.

Wherever words cannot convey the greatness of a message, the best communication medium would be the language of art. That is why ICRO decided to hold the international award annually in the categories of photos, videos and travelogues, with the aim of spreading the message of Arbaeen and Ashura.

This year’s competition had participants from 20 countries. Top works have been selected and will be awarded in the ceremony.

The poster of the 7th edition of the international award will also be unveiled in the program.

An exhibition of 40 selected works sent for the competition will be held on the sidelines of the ceremony, which will be broadcast on https://intlarbaeen.com.

The ceremony can also be watched on intel_arbaeen_award, the Instagram page of the award.

Arbaeen, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (AS).

Each year, a huge crowd of Shias flock to the Iraqi city of Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to perform mourning rites.

However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Baghdad has decided to bar all foreign pilgrims from visiting Iraq for this year’s Arbaeen.
