TEHRAN (IQNA) – A ceremony will be held in Tehran later this month to honor several veteran Quran activists and others serving the Holy Book, an official said.

Abdol Hadi Feqhizadeh, the Quran and Etrat deputy of Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, said it will honor those selected for the 24th and 25th editions of the Congress for Honoring Quran Servants, as the 24th edition was not organized last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

He said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani will take part in the ceremony.

Noting that the event is annually held to promote Quranic activities and introduce top Quran activists as role models for the society, Feqhizadeh hoped that such programs will help enhance the Quranic and Islamic culture.

In the upcoming ceremony, 18 Quran activists, including memorizers, reciters, experts, researchers, calligraphers, and managers of Quranic institutes will be honored, he added.

A total of 250 veteran Quranic figures have been honored in the 23 previous editions, the official went on to say.
