Semifinal of Iran Nat’l Quran Contest Kicks Off

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The panel of judges has officially started assessing the participants’ performances in the semifinal of Iran’s 44th national Quran contest.

 

According to a schedule announced by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, this stage of the event started on Saturday and will run for six days.

The panel of judges reviewed the contenders’ recitations in men and women’s tarteel and tahqiq categories on Saturday.

73 judges from different provinces are officiating the event at this stage. Winners will make it to the final round of the competition slated to be held in the final days of the Iranian month of Azar (Nov. 22 – December 21) with the exact date yet to be determined.

Contenders had already recorded their performance for this stage on October 17 and 18.

Final winners will represent Iran in international Quran competitions.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s National Quran Competition is annually held by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of top Quran activists from across the country. The categories of the contest include memorization, recitation, and interpretation of the Holy Quran.

It is aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in society.
