Programs to Mark 34th Anniversary of Hamas’ Establishment
The programs would be held under the slogan of ‘Hamas, Shield of Al-Quds and Path to Liberation’, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said in a press conference on Sunday.
He said they include meetings with families of martyrs and prisoners, media activities, voluntary works, and military maneuver.
According to Barhoum, the slogan of ‘Hamas, Shield of Al-Quds and Path to Liberation’ is a reminder of the victories and resistance of the Palestinian people and Hamas, especially the Qassam Brigades (military wing of Hamas) that shattered the illusion of the occupation regime’s invincibility and smashed its security, military and political system.
He added that in its more than three decades of resistance against the Zionist regime, Hamas has proven to all the meaning of struggle, Jihad and resistance.
The spokesman reiterated that Hamas will continue its resistance in all forms, including armed resistance, until liberation of all Palestinian lands and restoration of Palestinian people’s rights.
“We will not retreat from our principles and will not abandon any of our people’s rights and an iota of our land,” he said.
Founded in 1987, Hamas is the largest Palestinian resistance movement. Since 2007, it has ruled the besieged Gaza Strip and has since defended the impoverished enclave against four major Israeli wars, including the most recent 11-day conflict that ended in an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire in May.
