President Urges Facilitating Pilgrimage for Iranians

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raeisi stressed the need for facilitating pilgrimage for people in the country.

Speaking at a meeting of the National Council of Pilgrimage, held in the northeastern city of Mashhad on Friday, the president said grounds should be prepared for easy and cheap pilgrimage for people.  

Raeisi noted that despite the problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, people have continued to express their devotion to Imam Reza (AS) and other Infallibles (AS).

He said Iranians go on pilgrimage in various ways despite problems to show their devotion to the Infallibles (AS).

Raeisi stressed that pilgrimage to shrines of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) is a great capacity that can enhance peace and calm in the country and play a major role in promotion of morality, spirituality and culture.

According to the president, cheap and easy pilgrimage requires a mechanism that needs the contribution of all related organizations.

He also underlined the important role that media and arts can play in promoting the culture of pilgrimage.
