TEHRAN (IQNA) – The head of the Islamic Propagation Council in Tehran province said rallies will be organized to mark the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory on February 11.

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mohsen Mahmoudi

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mohsen Mahmoudi noted that last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the annual rallies were held either online or with people in cars, motorcycles and bicycles instead of marching on foot.

This year, however, he added, it is possible to hold the rallies normally given the widespread vaccination drive in the country and improvement of the condition.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mahmoudi said that since February 11 falls on Friday this year, special programs will be planned for both Friday prayers and celebrations marking the anniversary of the revolution’s victory.

He went on to say that every step taken in support of the Islamic Revolution is one in confrontation with Kufr (disbelief) and the world arrogance.

Surely, the rallies on Bahman 22 (February 11) will help in foiling the enemy plots against the Islamic establishment, he stated.

Millions of Iranians across the country observe ten days of celebrations in February every year marking the anniversary of the victory of the revolution that put an end to the monarchy of the US-backed Pahlavi regime in the country.

The day of Imam Khomeini’s return to Iran marks the beginning of the Ten Days of Dawn, which culminates with the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 43 years ago, ending the 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.

The Islamic Revolution spearheaded by the late Imam Khomeini established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.
