TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Pakistani pilgrim has become book donation ambassador after donating books and bringing many fellow compatriots along to donate books to Imam Reza holy shrine in Mashhad, northeast Iran.

Mohammad Pakistani, a pilgrim from Pakistan, has long been closely in touch with the central library of Imam Reza holy shrine.

Given the widespread love for Imam Reza (AS) among Muslims, which transcends geographical borders, Pakistan is one of the countries home to true devotees of the Imam. Therefore, the northeastern city of Mashhad and Imam Reza holy shrine annually welcomes a great many pilgrims from Pakistan and elsewhere, who visit different museums and the library of the holy shrine on a daily basis.

In addition to providing a priceless collection of manuscripts, lithographic, and printed sources for the holy shrine’s library, Mohammad Pakistani has now been designated as an ambassador to transfer the donated books from Pakistan to Imam Reza holy shrine.

He expressed the donors’ motivation as a sincere desire to be included among “the donors of Imam Reza holy shrine”.

Pakistani continued, “I told them I would take the books to a place where they would be well taken care of, rather than being left to gather dust on their shelves”.

The Manuscripts Center of Astan Quds Razavi, the body in charge of Imam Reza holy shrine, is the biggest of its kind in the world, which is also the largest center of donated manuscripts.
