TEHRAN (IQNA) – The deputy secretary general of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement hailed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s fight against oppression and injustice and its support for the oppressed.

Sheikh Naim Qassem

Addressing a webinar titled “Islamic Revolution Discourse; Software of Resistance in World”, Sheikh Naim Qassem said support for the cause of Palestine and attaching importance to the liberation of Al-Quds have been a brilliant feature of Islamic Iran.

The online seminar was held Tuesday morning by International Quran News Agency (IQNA) on the occasion of 43rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory.

Sheikh Qassem congratulated Iranians and all noble nations of the world on the occasion and said the Islamic Revolution that led to the establishment of the Islamic Republic in Iran has demonstrated a unique model to the world.

He said the Islamic Republic has been a model of independence and rejection of reliance on others as it has tried to be independent from the East and the West since the beginning.

The cleric added that Iranian people and government will not abandon or deviate from the slogan of “Neither East, Nor West”.

He said the Islamic Republic of Iran is also a symbol of self-sacrifice in the world and one of defending Islam and the country against enemies.

Sheikh Qassem also commended the Iranian nation for remaining steadfast in the face of sanctions and other difficulties.

He further said the Islamic Republic has confronted oppression and helped the oppressed since the beginning.

That includes support for the Palestinian nation, the cause of Palestine and liberation of al-Quds, he said.

This approach is an outstanding feature of the Islamic Republic and should be safeguarded, the Hezbollah official underlined.

He went on to say that Hezbollah is proud of its ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran and thanks the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the Iranian nation.

Every year, millions of Iranians across the country observe ten days of celebrations marking the anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution that put an end to the monarchy of the US-backed Pahlavi regime in the country.

The day of Imam Khomeini’s return to Iran (February 1 this year) marks the beginning of the Ten Day Fajr (dawn), which culminates with rallies on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 43 years ago, ending the 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.

The Islamic Revolution spearheaded by the late Imam Khomeini established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.
