Algeria Nat’l Quran Contest Finals Slated for Late Ramadan
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Algeria’s ministry of Awqaf and religious affairs will hold the final stage of the national Quran competition in the second half of the holy month of Ramadan.
The preliminary stage of the contest was held in different provinces earlier to introduce representatives of the provinces in the final round, aps.dz website reported.
Masoud Miad, an official with the ministry, said that the top two contenders from 58 provinces in the preliminary stage have made it to the finals.
He added that winners of the contest will be honored and awarded at the closing ceremony on the 27th night of Ramadan.
Algeria also annually organizes an international Quran competition in the holy month but this year the country decided to hold it in the month of Rajab.
