Over 1,300 People from 52 Nationalities to Take Part in Ras Al Khaimah Quran Award

TEHRAN (IQNA) – More than 1,300 people from 52 nationalities are set to take part in the 21st edition of the Ras Al Khaimah Quran Award in the United Arab Emirates.

 

According to Emirati media outlets, 1,377 people will compete in the upcoming event.

The exact date of the contest has not been announced yet, however, report suggests the final round will be staged in December with the closing ceremony slated for January 2023.

Ras Al Khaimah Foundation for the Holy Quran and Its Sciences organizes the event every year.

Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, head of center, said he was “very happy” with witnessing foreign residents of the UAE who strive for boosting their Quranic skills.  

He noted that such competitions show the country’s adherence to promoting tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

The competition will be held for different groups of contenders, including boys, girls, women, imams of mosques, muezzins, inmates and new Muslims living in the UAE.

Winners will be awarded cash prizes totaling more than 575,000 UAE dirhams, he went on to say.

Contestants from 59 nationalities living the Arab country took part in the previous edition of the event.
