Application for UAE Quran Competition to Begin on Nov. 1

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Application for Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Holy Quran Competition is set to begin on November 1 in the United Arab Emirates.

 

Those interested in taking part in the 23rd edition of the event can complete their registration by attending Quran memorization centers in the country.

The registration is open till December 15, Al-Bayan reported.

Participants are required to have a strong knowledge of Tajweed rules. Categories of the event include memorization of the entire Quran, memorization of 20 Juzes (parts), memorization of 10 Juzes, memorization of five Juzes (for Emirati citizens), memorization of five Juzes (for over 10-year-old residents), and memorization of three Juzes citizens above 10 years old.

Ibrahim Mohamed Bu Melha, adviser to the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs and chairman of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) organizing committee says Sheikha Hind Bint Maktoum Holy Quran Competition is one of the main Quranic competitions in the country.

He said the event aims to encourage citizens and residents to read and memorize the Holy Quran and implement its guidelines.

The date of the event is set to be announced. The last edition was held in March 2022.
