Iran Names Contenders in Jordan Int’l Quran Contest

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran will take part in the upcoming international Quran competition in Jordan with two representatives.

According to the Quranic Affairs Center of Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, Ali Reza Sameri will represent the country in the men’s section of the international event.

Sameri, who is from the southwestern province of Khuzestan, will compete in the category of memorization of the entire Holy Quran.

In the women’s section, Roya Fazaeli from the northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi will compete for Iran in memorization of the entire Holy Quran.

The two have been selected by the Quranic Affairs Center as Iran’s representatives based on their record in national Quran competitions as well as the conditions introduced by the host country.

The 30th edition of Jordan’s international Quran competition is slated for March 5-10, 2023 for women and April 11-17, 2023 for men.

The Arab country’s capital city of Amman will host the Quranic event.
