AL-QUDS (IQNA) – A Palestinian political analyst said the recent brilliant operation launched by the resistance forces against the Israeli regime showed the shaky nature of the occupation regime.

Arafat Abdullah Abu Zayed, spokesperson for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad student association, made the remark in an address to a webinar titled “Al-Aqsa Storm from the Perspective of Muslim World’s Elites: The Issue of Palestine and Future Ahead.”

He attended the forum, which was held by IQNA on Wednesday, via videoconference from the Gaza Strip.

He said the people in the coastal enclave have been under Israeli attacks for 11 days after the launch of the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation by Hamas resistance forces in response to Israeli aggression and Zionists’ violations of Muslim sanctities, including Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Abu Zayed said the surprise operation shattered the illusion of the Zionist regime’s invincibility and humiliated the occupation forces.

The Palestinian resistance managed to show the world and to the Arab and Muslim Ummah that defeating the Zionist regime is possible, a fact that has been emphasized by such figures like Martyrs Qassem Soleimani, Fat’hi Shaqaqi, Imad Mughniyeh, and Sheikh Ahmad Yasin as well as Hezbollah resistance movement’s secretary general, Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, he stated.

“We in the Gaza Strip proved that the Zionist regime is shaky and, as Sayed Hassan Nasrallah put it, is weaker than a spider’s web.”

Abu Zayed further referred to the Zionist regime’s attacks on the Gaza Strip, including its bombardment of mosques, universities and hospitals, saying the occupation regime wants to confront the growing cause of Palestinian resistance by launching such attacks.

His remarks came after at least 500 people were killed in the Israeli air raid on al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza on Tuesday.

The actual death toll could be far higher since, according to the territory’s health ministry, “hundreds of victims are still under the rubble.”

World leaders, governments, organizations and rights groups have strongly condemned the attack.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Abu Zayed underlined the role of universities and the media in promoting true accounts of the Islamic resistance and spreading opposition to concessions to the Zionist regime.

He said the truth about Palestine and the Islamic resistance as well as the Israeli aggression and crimes should be documented and translated into different languages to be presented to the world.

Manouchehr Mottaki, former Iranian foreign minister was the special guest of the forum and delivered his speech live from IQNA’s studio.

Muhammad Ali Rezaei Isfahani, head of Quran and Hadith Complex at Al-Mustafa International University, also addressed the event virtually.

Two academics from Iraq and Malaysia also delivered speeches. They included Mohsen Rasoul al-Saffar, Head of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at the Islamic University of Najaf and Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid, President of Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (Mapim).

The themes of the event included the capacity of universities in the Islamic world to shed light on Israel's war crimes in Gaza, the role of academics in breaking the silence of international and human rights institutions regarding Israel's crimes, and the future of Western initiatives aimed at normalizing relations between some Muslim-majority countries and Israel.
