Quranic Courses Conclude in Iraq’s Karbala

IQNA – A number of summer Quranic courses organized by the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine in Iraq’s Karbala Governorate have concluded.

Final exam of Quranic courses held in Karbala

 

The Astan’s Quran Scientific Assembly held the final exams of the courses this week, al-Kafeel website reported. 

Sheikh Jawad al-Nasrawi, director of the Assembly’s Quran Institute, said the closing ceremony of the courses will soon be held at the Al-Ameed Education Center affiliated to the Astan.

He said top scorers in the exams will be awarded at the ceremony.

He noted that 150 students took the summer Quranic courses.

In addition to Quranic lessons, the students were given lessons on Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), Islamic beliefs, ethics and Seerah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), he stated.

The exams were aimed at assessing the students’ progress and their readiness for participation in future courses on Quran memorization and contemplation, al-Nasrawi went on to say.
