Avenging Haniyeh’s Assassination A Quranic Instruction: Iranian MP

IQNA – An Iranian lawmaker underlined that taking revenge for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the political bureau chief of the Hamas resistance movement is a Quranic instruction.

Morteza Aqatehrani said by assassinating Haniyeh, the Zionist regime has trampled upon all international laws and regulations and must be punished for it. 

He said that the Quran clearly teaches us how to confront such an enemy, referring to Verse 192 of Surah Al-Baqarah, “If any one aggresses against you, so aggress against him with the likeness of that which he has aggressed against you.”

Aqatehrani reiterated that the time of hit and run has been over, adding that the Israeli regime should be given a severe blow so that the enemy would never again dare to commit such crimes.

By their recent assassinations in Lebanon, Iran, etc, the Zionist seek to spread the war to other countries, but they must know that by doing this, they will only expedite their demise, the cleric went on to say.

Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed when their residence was struck in Tehran on July 31.

Haniyeh was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
