IQNA – A senior member of the Palestinian movement Hamas referred to the Israeli regime’s moves to impede efforts aimed at ending the war on Gaza, stressing the need for Arab countries to cut ties with the Zionists.

Senior member of the Palestinian movement Hamas Osama Hamdan

“We are waiting for a meeting of the Arab world foreign ministers on severing ties with Israel,” Osama Hamdan said, Al Jazeera reported.

He said the Israeli regime continues genocide and crimes against the Palestinian nation, the latest example of which is the attack on al-Mawasi refugee camp in Khan Younis.

It also keeps the blockade of the Gaza Strip and the pressure on the people of the Palestinian enclave, especially those in the north where famine and various diseases have spread, he stated.

Hamdan also said the Tel Aviv regime also continues to impede the efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire and the exchange of prisoners.

The occupation regime is a threat not only to Palestine but to the national security of Arab countries as well, he said.

He hoped that the meeting of the Arab foreign ministers will lead to pressure on the Zionist regime to stop the war and reopen Gaza’s border crossings.

“We call on you (Arab foreign ministers) to support al-Quds and the sanctities of Palestine, prevent the implementation of the plots hatched by the enemy, and sever ties with the occupation regime,” he went on to say.
