IQNA – The registration deadline for the 31st edition of the Quran and Etrat competition for Iran’s Basij forces was extended with more than half a million have already signed up for the event.

The registration had started in late July and was planned to conclude on September 10. 

However, due to requests by Basij Dar-ol-Quran centers across the country, the registration deadline was extended to September 21.

According to the latest figures, there are more than 535,000 entries among Basij forces and their family members in the competition.

After the conclusion of the registration process, the first round will be held across the country at the mosques and Basij bases level.

Then there will be the city, provincial, semifinal and final rounds. 

According to the plans, the top contenders in the first four rounds will compete in the finals, slated to be held during the Basij week in November.
