Hezbollah Powerfully Confronting Israel: Iranian Cleric

IQNA – The secretary of Iran’s Constitutional Council said the Zionist regime should realize that the assassination of resistance front commanders and leaders will not undermine the resistance.

Addressing a meeting of the council on Wednesday, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said the recent operation carried out by the Hezbollah resistance movement against the Israeli regime proved that Hezbollah is alive and powerfully continues defending humanity and battling oppression and aggression. 

In the complex operation on Monday, Hezbollah’s missile force launched tens of missiles at various targets in Nahariya and Akka to trigger the occupation’s Air Defense systems. Hezbollah's air force then simultaneously deployed swarms of drones of various types, including some that were employed for the first time, toward Akka and Nahariya as well.

The drones successfully pierced through defense radars without being detected, reaching its military target: the training camp of the Golani Brigade in Binyamina, south of the occupied city of Haifa, and detonated in rooms where tens of Israeli occupation soldiers, including senior officers, were preparing to participate in the aggression against Lebanon. Tens were confirmed killed and injured in the attack.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Jannati condemned the deplorable silence of international organizations and some Western governments on the Israeli atrocities in Palestine and Lebanon.

He added that Muslim nations and governments should stand by the Palestinians and Lebanese in these difficult conditions.

The senior cleric also paid tribute to Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan, a member of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) who served as an adviser in Lebanon and was martyred, along with Hezbollah Secretary General Sayed Hassan Nasrallah, in an Israeli airstrike on a Beirut suburb on September 27.
