Attack Targets Friday Prayer Leader’s Home in Iraq’s Najaf
IQNA – The home of Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Sadreddin Al-Qabanchi, the Friday prayer leader of the holy city of Najaf in Iraq, came under attack today.
Unidentified gunmen opened fire early Wednesday, launching RPG rockets and throwing grenades at the building, according to a statement posted on the Telegram channel of the cleric’s office.
One of the senior cleric’s bodyguards is said to have been injured in the attack, Al-Sumaria News reported.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
