Muhammad al-Zuwaini said the Quran’s Tarteel recitation (Mushaf Murattal) in the “Hafs from Asim” narration has been recorded and produced with the voices of 20 students from the Al-Azhar Quran memorization centers.

These outstanding students are memorizers of the Book of God and part of the Al-Azhar project, which is being implemented under the supervision of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the imam of Al-Azhar, he noted.

The Quranic Administration of Al-Azhar launched this project over two years ago, aiming to educate students and prepare them in memorization, recitation, and mastery of Tajweed rules, thereby nurturing a new generation of Egyptian reciters in the tradition of the golden era of renowned reciters, so they can become pioneers in this field, he said.

Al-Zuwaini emphasized that one of the first fruits of this Quranic project is the production of the first recorded Quran recitation in Tarteel by 20 top students from Al-Azhar centers.

He noted that the recording had begun in the holy month of Ramadan last year, el-Balad News reported.
