Speaking to reporters at a press conference in Tehran on Monday, Esmaeil Baghaei criticized the silence of the United Nations and human rights bodies in the face of atrocities committed by the Israeli regime in Gaza and the West Bank in recent days.
“We are facing a dire situation in Gaza, and the silence of international system on this matter, along with the inaction of the United Nations and human rights organizations, is particularly concerning, especially considering their lack of response to the attack on 15 aid workers in Gaza.”
The events unfolding in Gaza are incomparable by any standard, he said, adding that this is pure atrocity.
The word genocide is being used to refer to what is happening in the Gaza Strip because no other word can be found to describe it, Baghaei stated.
He added that the Zionist regime even does not spare journalists as it does not want accurate information to spread so that it can proceed with its genocide project.
This is a stain on human civilization that will not be easily erased, he deplored, adding that, unfortunately, Western countries are complicit in this crime and are today hosting the Zionist regime’s officials.
