However, this is not going to happen, Esmaeil Baghaei said at his weekly press conference in Tehran on Monday.
Asked by IQNA about US President Donald Trump’s remarks about relocation of the people of Gaza in the early days of his presidency in January and his later silence over the issue, the spokesman said since the very first day that the Palestinian land was occupied, the project to force Palestinians out of their motherland began.
“If you look at the map of Palestine, you’ll see that this land has become smaller constantly (as a result of occupation). So there is no doubt that this (displacement of Palestinians) has been the Zionists’ intention since the beginning.”
He added that what the world is witnessing today in terms of the Israeli regime’s new wave of genocide and recurrent violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip is the continuation of that project.
“However, that’s not going to happen, because the Palestinian people have shown over the past seven decades that despite all the pressure, the terrible suffering and the betrayal of some countries, they still believe they are the true owners of this land and will never be driven from it,” he underlined.
Baghaei further described the continuation of the Israeli regime’s occupation of Palestine as the main source of instability in the region, noting that the only entity known as an Apartheid system in the region is the Zionist regime.

Unfortunately, however, Western countries continue not to accept this truth, he deplored.
He also referred to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, saying that Iran has used all its diplomatic capacities to stop the genocide in the Palestinian enclave.
Baghaei added that the issue of Palestine, Gaza, Lebanon and Syria has always been part of the focus of Iran’s negotiations at the international level.
