An exhibition titled “Art for Gaza” has been launched in Islamabad, Pakistan, to show Pakistani artists’ support for the oppressed people of Gaza (May 2025)

A number of embassies in Islamabad, including the Cultural Attaché of the Iranian Embassy, contributed to organizing the expo.

It showcases artworks in such fields as painting, sculpture, photography, theater and music from all over Pakistan.

Jamal Shah, a renowned artistic figure and former minister of culture of Pakistan, who is now in charge of the Silk Road Foundation and the exhibition was organized on his initiative, addressed the exhibition’s opening.

He sympathized and expressed solidarity with the people of the Gaza Strip, saying, “We are witnessing the most brutal crimes being committed against Gaza’s oppressed and defenseless people today.

“Unfortunately, in this special and critical conditions, Muslim countries do nothing against the bloodthirsty Zionist regime,” he deplored.

Holding this exhibition was the only thing that Pakistani artists could do to express solidarity with Gaza, he added.

The ambassador of Palestine and the Iranian cultural attaché were also among the speakers at the ceremony.

At the end of the week-long exhibition, the artworks created by the artists will be auctioned and the proceeds will go to help the people of Gaza.

More than 53,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed in the Israeli regime’s genocidal war on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
