500 Memorizers Take Part in Quran Competition at Imam Reza Mausoleum

IQNA – The holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad, northeast Iran, hosted a Quran competition with the participation of 500 memorizers from different age groups.

The contestants were those taking part in the 25th Tahfiz Razavi Quran memorization plan.

They competed in memorization of the Quran at different levels, from memorizing one Juz (part) to memorizing the entire Quran.

The Tahfiz Razavi initiative, with the aim of promoting the memorization of the Holy Quran and improving the level of the Quran memorizers, is held periodically at the end of each academic semester at the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (AS) and in neighborhood mosques in Mashhad.

The Astan Quds Razavi’s Center for Quranic Affairs and the Abu Talib Dar al-Tahfiz Institute jointly organize the event.

Quran memorizers from different age groups participate in this plan.

The initiative has been underway since 2019, and so far more than 3,000 people have benefited from the plan’s training, with 180 people having succeeded in memorizing the entire Holy Quran.

The holy city of Mashhad is among the cities with the largest number of Quran activists in Iran.
