The Zionist regime has violated the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip from the very beginning, Esmaeil Baghaei said in a press conference in Tehran on Monday.
“We have expressed concern from the beginning about the continuation of genocide in Gaza and the occupied territories,” he stated.
“Since the ceasefire agreement was nominally launched and a truce was to be established in Gaza, instead of the concept of a ceasefire, we are facing the reality of a ‘ceasefire violation’,” he deplored.
Baghaei added, “We are still witnessing the continuation of genocide and mass destruction of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. In this short period of time, since the ceasefire issue was raised, more than 200 innocent Palestinians have been martyred in the attacks of the Zionist regime.”
Criticizing the positions of international institutions, he said the United Nations Security Council and the countries that are the main supporters of the Zionist regime have, with their behavior and policies, caused the regime to seek war and continue its crimes.
In another part of his speech, Baghaei referred to the International Day to End Violence and Impunity for Crimes against Journalists and said, “This day is very important for all of us, especially media people, but when we look at the reality on the ground, in the past two years, about 270 journalists and cameramen have been killed in the course of genocide in occupied Palestine.”

He went on to say, “This statistic is unprecedented; but unfortunately, the constant repetition of crimes has made these figures seem normal to public opinion. The killing of 270 journalists has never been seen in the history of global conflicts, and this itself indicates the fact that what is happening in Palestine is not just a war, but a full-fledged genocide.”
Elsewhere in the press conference, in response to a question about the threats from the United States and Israel against Lebanon, Baqaei said the threat against Lebanon is ongoing and more than five thousand ceasefire violations by the Israeli regime have been recorded, but Lebanon has the right to defend itself and all necessary means must be available to protect the country.
