
North Sinai mosques witnessed a large attendance of Egyptian citizens and worshippers in Quran recitation circles held on Friday, Al-Watan reported.
The programs are held every Friday after Friday prayers and continue until the afternoon prayer in the mosques of the governorate.
According to a statement by the North Sinai Awqaf Department, Quran recitation circles are held weekly in line with the Ministry of Awqaf’s plan to strengthen religious awareness and spread the correct and fluent recitation of the Quran.
They are organized under the supervision of Awqaf Minister Osama Al-Azhari, the statement noted.
Referring to the efforts of the imams of the mosque congregations to organize these circles, Mahmoud Marzouk, director of North Sinai Awqaf Department, said the warm reception of Quran recitation circles reflects the enthusiasm of the people of this governorate to connect with the Book of God.
Marzouk added that the department has implemented this program in response to the Egyptian Awqaf Minister’s emphasis on successfully holding blessed Quran recitation gatherings, reviving the tradition of correct group recitation, and creating opportunities for all members of society to improve their recitation.

According to the report, the popular Quran recitation gatherings are among the important religious activities of the Awqaf ministry and provide participants with the opportunity to listen to correct recitations and correct their recitation in the presence of prominent scholars and expert prayer leaders.
These gatherings also play an important role in strengthening the correct understanding of the Quran and reflecting on the meanings of the verses of the Holy Book.
