Pakistani Speaker Calls Int’l Quran Contest A Symbol of Muslim Unity

IQNA – The speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan described the ongoing international Quran competition in Islamabad as a symbol of unity in the Muslim world.

Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq addressed the International Quran Recitation Competition being held in Pakistan’s capital, Islamabad, on November 27, 2025.

 

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Thursday addressed the International Quran Recitation Competition being held in Pakistan’s capital, terming it a blessing and an honor to participate in such a spiritually enriching gathering.

He expressed deep satisfaction at attending the sacred event, appreciating the participation of Qaris from 36 countries, which he said is truly commendable.

He added that the competition was not only a display of mastery in the Holy Quranic recitation but also a powerful symbol of unity within the Muslim world.

Sadiq conveyed his gratitude to Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yusuf for inviting him to this blessed ceremony. He stated that the gathering reflects the shared reverence of the Muslim Ummah for the Holy Quran.

Highlighting the significance of the Holy Quran, the Speaker said that the Holy Quran is a complete code of life that has guided humanity out of the darkness of ignorance.

He emphasized that the Holy Quran remains the eternal source of guidance, enlightenment, peace, and spiritual solace. He added that acting upon the teachings of the Holy Quran paves the way for success in this world and the hereafter.

Sadiq also extended his best wishes to all participating Qaris from across the Muslim world and appreciated their dedication to the art of Quranic recitation.

The first international Quran recitation competition of Pakistan got underway in the capital Islamabad on Monday, November 24.

Reciters from the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have participated in the contest, which has been organized by the ministry of religious affairs of Pakistan.

By hosting the event, the country seeks to showcase its cultural, spiritual and religious traditions while strengthening ties between the member states of the OIC.

The competition also aims to encourage the youth to ponder the meanings of the Quran and preserve the sacred tradition of recitation across generations.

The event will end with an award ceremony at Islamabad’s Muhammad Ali Jinnah International Conference Center in the presence of religious and government figures of Pakistan on November 29.

Adnan Momenin, a distinguished qari from the southwestern province of Khuzestan, is representing the Islamic Republic of Iran in this Quranic event.
