Iran Names Representatives in Bangladesh Int’l Quran Contest

IQNA – The representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the upcoming international Quran competition of Bangladesh have been named.

Mehdi Barandeh and Is’haq Abdollahi will compete for Iran in the 4th international Quran competition of Bangladesh on December 19-24, 2025.

 

The fourth edition of the South Asian country’s international Quran contest is slated to be held in the capital Dhaka on December 19-24.

Iran will take part in the Quranic event with a qari and a Quran memorizer.

Mehdi Barandeh will compete for Iran in the category of Quran memorization while Is’haq Abdollahi will represent the country in recitation.

They have been selected by the secretariat of the Committee for Inviting and Dispatching Quran reciters.

Barandeh is a memorizer of the entire Quran who won the top ranking in the 45th edition of the international Quran competition of Saudi Arabia.

Abdollahi is a qari who came first in Russia’s 23rd International Quran contest.

According to the regulations, those named to participate in the international Quran competition of Bangladesh, must meet the technical conditions.

There is also an age condition based on which the contestant in the memorization category must be under 25 years old and the contestant in the recitation category must be under 35 years old.
