It took place at the Sayyid Qutb Mosque in the Nussirat camp in the Palestinian enclave, Al Jazeera reported.

Such Quranic events, which continued more or less during the Gaza war, have returned with more force after the ceasefire came into effect in October this year.

The organizers and participants of the event expressed their joy and determination to continue this Quranic movement.

One of the officials in charge of the holding the Khatm Quran program described the atmosphere prevailing at the event as extraordinary.

He said many in Gaza were deprived of this inspiring atmosphere due to the cruel and destructive war imposed on the enclave by the Israeli regime for two years.

The mother of martyr Ahmed Abu al-Rus (a Palestinian martyr) described the ceremony as a Quranic celebration despite the wounds, bitterness of pain and separation.

She dedicated the joy of this Quranic celebration to the souls of the martyrs and all those who have extended a helping hand to the people of Gaza and emphasized that Gaza will not be defeated as long as it has the Quran.

An elderly woman born in 1948, who has a high enthusiasm for memorizing the Quran, was among the participants at the program.

She said she has been a regular mosque-goer and has recited the Quran for 30 years.

She proudly said that all her grandchildren have memorized the Quran in this mosque.

A 76-year-old woman also expressed her interest and satisfaction in participating in the Khatm Quran program despite her old age and said, “With the Quran, I feel like I live with God.”

She added, “I am the mother of three martyrs of the 2008, 2014 and 2023 Israeli wars in Gaza, and a number of my grandchildren have also been martyred.”

Malik Zuhair Bassam Al-Malif, one of the children participating in the program, said, “In the first sessions I participated in this program, I completed 3 parts of the Quran. I wish to complete all the parts of the Quran and, God willing, be able to recite the entire Quran in one session.”
