IQNA – The first Islamic Ummah-Palestine Unity Conference in Malaysia, which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, ended its work with the issuance of a statement.

The flag of Palestine

It was organized by the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) in cooperation with the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organizations (MAPIM) and organizations supporting Palestine, and with the presence of Muslim scholars and thinkers from the ASEAN countries.

Following are excerpts from the final statement of the conference, according to the public relations office of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought:

We, the religious scholars, intellectuals, religious leaders and representatives of Islamic institutions from various parts of the Islamic world, gathered at the Islamic Ummah-Palestine Unity Conference, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on January 20, 2026, at the invitation of the Government of Malaysia and in cooperation with the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, issue this Kuala Lumpur Declaration.

This conference is held at a historic and fateful moment, while unprecedented crimes committed by the usurping Zionist regime against the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza, including mass killings, the killing of tens of thousands of civilians, most of whom are women and children, the wounding of hundreds of thousands, the widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure, and the displacement of more than two million people, amounting to the crimes of genocide and crimes against humanity, are taking place.

After reviewing regional and global developments, and feeling a sense of religious, moral and historical responsibility, we declare our full solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine, send our greetings to the martyrs of Gaza, and announce the following:

1. Unity of the Islamic Ummah

The Islamic Ummah is a single Ummah, which worships one God, follows one Prophet, recites one Book, and faces one Qibla.

2. Human Dignity, Justice, and Resistance to Oppression

Human dignity, justice, and security are fundamental Islamic values. Human dignity is a divine gift to every human being, and justice is a divine and rational commandment that underlies the legitimacy of government and social stability. Any violation of human rights is an example of oppression that must be rejected and resisted.

2. Islamic Cooperation as the Foundation of Unity

Achieving Muslim unity requires strengthening Islamic cooperation between schools of thought, countries, and institutions. Diversity within the Ummah is a source of enrichment, not a cause of division, and cooperation based on commonalities is the foundation for building a future full of brotherhood and harmony.

4. Rejecting Sectarian Incitement

We warn against the danger of sectarian incitement and inflammatory speeches that weaken the Ummah and serve its enemies. Insulting Muslims and attacking religious symbols only leads to hostility and moral degradation.

5. Palestine and Al-Quds as a Common Issue

The issue of Palestine, al-Quds and the Holy Land is a central and common issue for the Islamic Ummah, and supporting the oppressed people of Palestine is a religious and moral duty.

6. Support for resistance and accountability

We declare our support for the resistance front against the criminal Zionist regime and demand accountability for the perpetrators of war crimes, the immediate and unconditional release of Palestinian prisoners, and support for independent international investigations.

7. Practical measures and sanctions

We call for an immediate end to the aggression on Gaza and the lifting of the siege, the severance of political, economic, and diplomatic relations with the Zionist regime, comprehensive sanctions, a complete boycott of its products, and the provision of humanitarian, financial, and defense support to the Palestinian people.

At the end of this conference, we honor the memory of the martyrs of the resistance, salute the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, and call on Islamic governments, religious scholars, civil societies, and all free people of the world to take decisive action to restore the legitimate and full rights of the Palestinian people.
