Strong Turnout Marks Start of Quran Competition Qualifiers in UAE’s Sharjah

IQNA – Students from multiple UAE cities have converged on the Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club in Sharjah to compete in the qualifying rounds for the 19th Al Dhaid Ramadan Holy Quran Competition, demonstrating strong early enthusiasm for the annual religious and cultural event.

The competition features several categories, including the memorization of one, two, three, five, ten and 20 parts of the Holy Quran. These categories are open to all those wishing to take part.

The qualifiers were attended by Salem Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Club, and Muhaier Obaid Al Khayal Al Tunaiji, the club’s Executive Director.

Three specialized committees, established in cooperation with the Central Region branch of the Sharjah Quran and Sunnah Foundation, are overseeing the competition at the club’s headquarters.

Al Ketbi said the annual organization of the competition reflects the club’s commitment to encouraging children and young people to memorize the Holy Quran and to strengthen religious values, in collaboration with the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment (SNQSE).

For his part, Khalifa Mubarak Dalmouk Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Cultural and Community Development Committee at Al Dhaid Club, noted that the competition has become a key part of the club’s Ramadan activities. He added that the closing ceremony will be held during the holy month of Ramadan and will recognize those who contributed to the success of this edition.
