
According to menafn, the MoU aims to harmonize policies and regulations related to the documentation and archiving of historical manuscripts and to build capacity through educational activities and the exchange of experiences.
Khalifa Musabih Al-Tunaiji, president of the Sharjah Quran Assembly, and Abdulaziz Al-Musallam, president of the Sharjah Heritage Center, signed the MoU.
A number of officials and managers of the administrative departments of the two centers were present at the signing ceremony.
The head of the Sharjah Quran Assembly emphasized that the cooperation is in line with the Assembly’s approach to using new technologies and artificial intelligence to serve the Quran and the restoration and archiving of manuscripts that are a living testimony to the history of writing the Quran and the development of Quranic sciences.
He added that cooperation with the Sharjah Heritage Center, which is registered with UNESCO, will help archive manuscripts and rare historical artifacts, protect these manuscripts from damage and loss, and facilitate access to these artifacts for researchers and enthusiasts.
Al-Tanaji said this MoU will play an important role in introducing the Sharjah Quran Assembly in international forums in which the Sharjah Heritage Center participates.
The Sharjah Quran Assembly was launched in January 2021, by the ruler of Sharjah. It includes seven scientific and historical museums, and is dedicated to activities and programs related to the Holy Quran and gatherings of enthusiasts and activists in various Quranic fields.

The Sharjah Quran Assembly has branches in 140 countries and accepts students from all over the world.
It currently houses a collection of historical Qurans, parchments, and other rare Quranic works, some of which are 1,300 years old and span different time periods from the second century AH to the contemporary era.
The Sharjah Heritage Centre is also a cultural and scientific institution and an international center under the auspices of UNESCO for capacity building in the field of cultural heritage.
