Speaking at the awarding ceremony of the State-level Quran Recitation and Memorization Assembly, Hajiji Noor also said the competition is among the strategic approaches of the State Government to encourage Muslims to appreciate and elevate the Quran.

Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman officiated the ceremony.

Hajiji said the continued organization of the annual religious event reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring spiritual and physical development progress in tandem to achieve balance in worldly and spiritual affairs.

He said the assembly also serves as a platform to produce Qari, Qariah, Hafiz and Hafizah (male and female Quran reciters and memorizers) who excel in recitation and memorization while becoming role models for society, adding that the government remains committed to facilitating initiatives related to Islamic education, tahfiz (memorization) institutions and programs to strengthen Islamic values.
