Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Javad Hajj Ali Akbari, the interim Friday prayer leader of Tehran, made the remark in the Eid al-Fitr prayer sermons on Saturday.

Believers thank God as He has bestowed upon them the blessing of guidance, “Praise be to Allah for what He has guided us, and to Him belongs all thanks for what He has given us,” he noted, stressing that the state of believers on the day of Eid al-Fitr is a state of thanksgiving.

He said according to Imam Ali (AS), the day of Eid is very similar to the Day of Judgment.

“You had a competition in the holy month of Ramadan, today is the day of determining the ranks and it is the day when the good and the benefactors find their special place.”

He said Eid al-Fitr is also a day of prayer and supplication to the Almighty God. “Of course, this day is a new beginning. Today is the first day of your new year. The holy month of Ramadan is actually the first month of the year for the believers who seek righteousness, and this will also be your first day. Therefore, the new beginning of your life is in the light of faith, piety, purity and spirituality. We hope that God, by His grace and generosity, will make this day a blessed day for all believers and Muslims and will send His blessings on everyone on this dear day.”

In the second sermon of the Eid al-Fitr prayer, Hojat-ol-Islam Hajj Ali Akbari called on worshippers to have divine piety, and emphasized the gratitude for the essence of piety with the blessings of a month of service, prayer, fasting, supplication and waking up early.

“Thanks to the blessing of a month of serving God, serving the people, and practicing good character, we have been provided with this. We should appreciate this connection with God Almighty. Eid al-Fitr is actually a day to pay attention to such a great blessing. Preserving the achievements of Ramadan, God willing, until the next blessed month of Ramadan is the main program of believers.”

He added, “What a month of Ramadan this year has been for us. Perhaps one of the most difficult programs of this Ramadan for believers, especially for the people of Tehran, is attending the Eid al-Fitr prayer, which sees the empty place of our beloved martyr Imam (Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei. For years, our Eid has been celebrated with the breath of that divine man, and by watching the luminous beauty of that guardian of God, we saw the crescent of the holy month of Shawwal on the face of the holy month.”

The cleric added, “This blessed month of Ramadan was for us the month of jihad, the month of martyrdom, the month of presence, the month of power, the month of epics, the month of remembrance and prayer; no matter what the nights, what the times, and what the situations. In this blessed month of Ramadan, we have witnessed and seen many magnificent manifestations of the help of the Almighty God, and all this was in the light of the martyrdom of the martyred Leader. It was the manifestation of the spirit of our martyred Imam in our society and the miracle of the culture of martyrdom in the nation of Imam Hussein (AS).”

Elsewhere his sermon, Hojat-ol-Islam Hajj Ali Akbari referred to the New Year message of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei in which he emphasized national unity.

“National unity has a special manifestation in the message of our beloved leader, and he emphasized that this must be preserved. He warned about the enemy’s media operations and advised everyone to take care of this sacred unity like a sweet soul. Those who write and have something to say should be careful about this great blessing.”
