Lebanese Council Urges Serve Punishment for Assassins of Syrian Scholar
The council, in a statement, emphasized the need for implementation of the necessary measures to support Shia Muslims in order to be a model for all Syrian organizations and to maintain the stability of this country.
The Supreme Islamic Council of Shias condemns this criminal and cowardly act against a member of the Syrian Shia Islamic religious council and emphasizes the effort to preserve the unity of the Syrian nation and the stability of this country, the statement added.
“We commend the speed of action of the Syrian ministry of interior and its emphasis that this crime falls within the framework of targeting religious and social symbols, inciting sedition and harming social stability and that that it will not go unpunished,” it said.
The statement continued by emphasizing the need to uncover the truth behind this heinous crime, to impose the most severe punishment on its perpetrators, to take the necessary measures to support the Shias, and to establish stability and unity in Syria.
