IQNA – Egypt’s Al-Azhar Islamic Center announced the start of the fourth season of the center’s summer Quran project in order to serve the Quran and teach the word of revelation.

Egypt’s Al-Azhar Islamic Center announced the start of the fourth season of the center’s summer Quran project in order to serve the Quran and teach the word of revelation.

The project will be implemented from June 1 to August 31, 2026 under the supervision of Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Egypt Today reported.

This year’s project offers a comprehensive package of Quranic and educational programs for different age groups, combining memorization, review and reflection on the Quran alongside the revival of the Prophetic Sunnah in a comprehensive educational experience.

It is aimed at strengthening the connection of young people with the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The summer Quran project will be implemented for the fourth consecutive year. It has been held in previous years with the broad participation of students and parents.

The successful implementation of this project and its good reception by Egyptian citizens have made it one of Al-Azhar’s most prominent Quranic initiatives for the dissemination of Quranic sciences and the institutionalization of moderate Islamic values, according to the center.

The project has several main axes, the most important of which is the “10,000 Quran Memorizers” plan, which aims to graduate 10,000 Quran memorizers who learn the entire Quran by heart in more than 12,000 private Quran memorization centers under the supervision of Al-Azhar throughout Egypt.

The project also includes the “Memorize Your Curriculum” program, which was developed for students in Al-Azhar institutions.

The program, which is held three days a week, aims to help students memorize the curriculum for the upcoming academic year, allowing them to make the most of their summer vacation and reduce their academic workload during the new year.

The project also includes the “Holy Quran Platform”, an online platform that offers remote Quran memorization services to students of Al-Azhar institutions and others who wish to memorize the Quran during the summer. This initiative is in line with Al-Azhar’s strategy of using digital learning tools and expanding access to Quranic programs.

The project also aims to revive the Prophetic Sunnah by holding sessions to read and listen to the Prophetic Hadiths in Al-Azhar’s Quran memorization institutions and centers.

Al-Azhar’s summer project also includes programs for the “International Day of Quran Memorization” held annually on August 30. These programs involve reciting the entire Quran in one day or reciting parts of it. The previous session saw the participation of more than 100,000 people from within Egypt and thousands more from abroad.
