IQNA – An Algerian university professor and Quranic studies researcher believes that Iran’s stability under the US-Israeli bombing and aggression has revealed the real power of “religious and popular legitimacy” to the world.

Algerian scholar Nureddin Abu Lahya

While the enemy fled to shelters in the streets of Tel Aviv, imagining the collapse of the Iranian Islamic establishment in the wake of the US-Israeli assassinations and aggression, the Iranian nation sent a different message to the world with an epic presence in the streets, Nureddin Abu Lahya said in an interview with IQNA, referring to the recent 40-day war launched by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran.

Abu Lahya is a professor at Batna University and a graduate of Amir Abdel Qader University in Algeria, and a student of Sheikh Muhammad Ghazali, the great Egyptian Islamic thinker. He has more than one hundred and forty publications in various Islamic sciences, including jurisprudence, hadith, beliefs, and Quranic sciences, as well as studies in Iranology. In the field of Iranology, he has authored a series of books titled “This is Iran and This is Its Doctrine” in five volumes, and in the field of hadith sciences, a twenty-volume volume on the subject of hadiths common between Islamic sects is one of his works. The most important scientific work he is currently writing is a thematic commentary on the Holy Quran, of which twenty volumes have been published so far.

In his interview with IQNA, Abu Lahya analyzed the strategic dimensions of the recent aggression against Iran and referred to this event as a turning point that shattered the illusions of the West.

He said Iran’s persistence and steadfastness in the third imposed war is not only a sign of military power, but also a testament to the depth of popular legitimacy and the strong roots of the Islamic Republic system, which will not be shaken by any blow.

“Despite the devastation and the silence of international organizations in condemning this action, this event is actually a great victory and an important opportunity for the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

Citing verses from the Holy Quran, he said that this battle can be a motivation to confront global arrogance and should not be viewed solely from the perspective of suffering and victimhood. According to him, just as some consider the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS) to be a mere tragedy, others see it as a source of strength and a prelude to victory.

The Algerian scholar said the failure of this American-Zionist aggression is a great historical opportunity not only for Iran, but also for the West Asia region, the Islamic world, and even for all of humanity.

The first victory related to this aggression is the revelation of the truth of America as the Great Satan to the world, as Imam Khomeini (RA) said, and as the axis of jihad and resistance calls it the Great Satan, he stated.

“Some people, when the slogan ‘Death to America’ was chanted, would say: ‘Why death to America? You are exaggerating. America is good and America helps societies.’ But now everyone is saying ‘Death to America’”.

He said the second issue is the revelation of the truth about Iran to the world, and this is also a victory. “They were under the illusion that Iran was exclusively linked to Ayatollah (Seyed Ali) Khamenei (RA), the martyred Leader of the revolution, and if they assassinated him, the system would collapse. But the day they committed that horrific crime, they were taken by surprise. They were attacked from all sides and from all bases, and this is amazing because they targeted the senior leadership, but the system remained. They understood that Iran is a system and a set of very strong institutions that are unparalleled in the world. Even if they kill important people, the Iranian system will not be eradicated.”

Abu Lahya said this system is stable because, firstly, it has religious, Quranic, faith and Islamic legitimacy, and secondly, it originates from the people.

“We saw how the Iranian people came to the streets under the bombing. While the Zionists fled to shelters. They supported the establishment and mourned their martyred leader (may Allah be pleased with him). This is very important and they realized that Iran is a force to be reckoned with. America can be overthrown and the Zionist regime can be eradicated, but Iran cannot be overthrown.”
