Al-Ameed Quran Award: Moroccan, Indonesian Qaris Compete in Semifinals

IQNA – Reciters from Morocco and Indonesia showcased their Quranic talents in the semifinal round of the third edition of the Al-Ameed international Quran recitation award in Iraq.

Muhammad Iqbal and Muhammad Ziyan Fahrizi from Indonesia and Saifuddin Nawar from Morocco were the semifinalists on the 16th day of the contest.

The competition has been organized by the Holy Quran Scientific Assembly affiliated with the Astan of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine.

Quran reciters from 20 Arab and non-Arab countries are taking part in the contest, according to Al-Kafeel website.

A committee of international reciters including Sheikh Muhammad Bassiouni from Egypt, Bassem Al-Abidi and Mushtaq Al-Ali from Iraq, Sheikh Muhammad Asfour from Egypt, Sayed Hassanein Al-Helou from Iraq and Seyed Karim Mousavi from Iran are supervising this competition.

The Al-Ameed Quran recitation competition is held annually as one of the initiatives of the Astan of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine with the aim of spreading the culture of the Holy Quran and promoting the Quran as a solid guide for the individual and society.
