Houra Yassin, a media figure and widow of Mohammad Baqer Ali Karaki, a Hezbollah fighter martyred in the resistance against the Zionist regime, described her late husband as a devoted father.
Speaking in an interview with IQNA, Yassin said her husband was a man of deep piety, maintaining an unwavering commitment to prayer, reciting the Quran at every opportunity, and observing nightly supplications. She added that he was humble in his dealings with others, treating both young and old with respect and working to ease people’s burdens.
“We all belong, above all, to the school of Karbala – a school that has given us strength, faith, patience, and endurance,” Yassin said.
She said that Lebanon's resilient families today embody the lessons of Karbala through their willingness to sacrifice their lives, wealth, and children. This faith, she said, helps them bear hardships and preserve the legacy of resistance.
“Our patient families today are a living embodiment of the lessons of Karbala – in sacrificing life, wealth, and children.”
Speaking about the broader Lebanese community, Yassin said the secret to the nation’s endurance lies in faith in God and the teachings of Imam Hussein (AS), as well as the influence of leaders who shaped the resistance environment. She specifically mentioned the late Hezbollah secretary general Sayed Hassan Nasrallah as a key figure who, alongside his loyal companions, provided support to the people.
Today, Yassin said, the most beautiful examples of patience and steadfastness can be seen in the families of the martyrs, the wounded, and those displaced from their homes.
“We are like a tree whose roots are firm in the ground and whose branches reach toward the sky,” she said.
Yassin also addressed the role of media in supporting the resistance. She said media has become a fundamental tool of modern life and that adversaries seek to use it to undermine pro-resistance sentiment.
“Media today occupies a large part of our lives and has become one of the basic tools of access to information and news,” she said. “Because of its importance, enemies try through media to strike at the environments that support the resistance, weaken their morale and create instability among them.”

She added that increasing media activity and directing it correctly can strengthen solidarity and expose false narratives.
“Our duty today is to use this media weapon, alongside the military weapon, to serve the issues of the nation and to make world public opinion see the truth as it is,” she said.
