Funeral of Martyred Leader in Iraqi Holy Cities Slated for July 8
Lt. Gen. Saad Maan, spokesman for the Iraqi Army Joint Staff, announced that the procession will take place from on Wednesday, July 8.
It will be held from Kufa to Najaf and then at the shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas (AS) in Karbala, he noted.
The ceremony will be attended by the political officials of Iran and Iraq, Maan stated.
He said millions of Iraqis are also expected to take part in the procession.
Foreign delegations will also participate in this funeral, and necessary arrangements have been made for the presence of Iraqi Moukebs to serve the mourners, he went on to say.
