Arbaeen March Basis for Imam Zaman Global Movement: Iraqi Scholar
Speaking at a conference in Karbala, Sheikh Mohsen Mousavi Qazvini said the million-strong Arbaeen march is a prelude to the emergence and an arena for educating people who are faithful, justice-seeking, and ready to participate in the global movement of Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent).
The conference “Muntazirs (those awaiting the Savior) and Islamic Civilization” was held by the Cultural and Educational Committee of the Arbaeen Headquarters on the road between Najaf and Karbala.
Sheikh Qazvini stated that the pilgrimage has special privileges and virtues, and emphasized that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) explained the great status and reward of the pilgrimage to Imam Hussein (AS) shrine in a speech addressed to Ibn Abbas.
He noted that Imam Musa Kadhim (AS) also said in a narration addressed to Bashir, “Whoever visits Imam Hussein (AS) while knowing his truth and status, his past sins will be forgiven.”
Therefore, he said, a true pilgrimage is not just about being present at the holy shrine, but it must be accompanied by knowing the truth, goals, and ideals of Imam Hussein (AS).
The founder of the Ahl-ul-Bayt University (AS) pointed out the connection between the Husseini movement and the Mahdist culture and said the fundamental right for which Imam Hussein (AS) rose up was to establish justice and confront oppression.
“This is the same ideal that will reach its peak in the reign of Imam Mahdi (AS), and the earth, after being filled with oppression and injustice, will be filled with equity and justice.”

Sheikh Qazvini added that Imam Zaman (AS) is more deserving than others to attend the pilgrimage of his great grandfather.
“He observes our actions, and this great movement can be a prelude to his emergence and the beginning of his global movement.”
Emphasizing the role of Arbaeen pilgrims in paving the way for the emergence of the Savior, this religious scholar said the Imam of the Time (AS) needs pioneers and forces who are prepared, aware, and rising up to realize his global movement, and the Arbaeen pilgrimage can provide the basis for training such people; people who are ready to establish justice throughout the earth.
He emphasized that this huge crowd and this global movement are among the preparations for the emergence and groundwork for the movement of Imam Mahdi (AS), and hoped that the pilgrims of Arbaeen will be among the companions and pioneers of his global uprising.
