Arbaeen Procession Being Held with Highest Levels of Security, Order: Envoy

IQNA – Iran's Ambassador to Iraq said that this year's Arbaeen pilgrimage is being held more magnificently, more orderly, and with fewer challenges than in previous years.

Speaking to Radio Arbaeen, Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadeq said: "Year after year, Arbaeen is becoming more magnificent, better organized, and is being held with fewer problems. Over the past few days, I have visited many of the main pilgrimage routes, including the Mehran, Shalamcheh, and Chazabeh border crossings, as well as Kadhimiya and Samarra. Fortunately, Iranian pilgrims are performing their pilgrimage in complete safety and under favorable conditions."

He thanked the Iraqi government and people, saying: "Our Iraqi brothers have gone above and beyond in welcoming pilgrims and providing services, and they deserve our sincere appreciation."

Emphasizing that this year's Arbaeen is being conducted with minimal challenges, Al-Sadeq said: "In my meetings with Iraqi officials in different locations, I noted that in previous years our discussions usually focused on problems, incidents, and security concerns. But this year, thanks to God, we are witnessing a smooth, secure, and well-organized Arbaeen, and we are speaking more about its achievements than its difficulties."

Referring to improved services at the border crossings, he added: "Services at the borders have improved significantly compared to previous years. Infrastructure, transportation routes, and facilities for pilgrims have all been upgraded. Pilgrims entering Iraq or returning to Iran have expressed satisfaction with the measures taken by officials on both sides of the border."

He expressed hope that the remaining days of the Arbaeen ceremonies would continue in complete peace, safety, and without any problems.

The Iranian ambassador also referred to the activities of Iran's service headquarters in Iraq, saying that 10 service centers are operating in cities including Basra, Kadhimiya, Najaf, Karbala, Erbil, and Sulaymaniyah, as well as at the Shalamcheh, Chazabeh, and Khosravi border crossings to assist pilgrims.

He added that eight specialized committees—including cultural, media, relief and missing persons, medical services, logistics, security, and other support units—are working around the clock. Pilgrims can visit these centers for guidance, and any issues they encounter are addressed as quickly as possible.

Al-Sadeq concluded by thanking Iranian pilgrims for managing their journeys responsibly, cooperating with officials, and observing order and regulations.
