Official Highlights Important Role of Quranic Moukebs in Arbaeen
Speaking to IQNA, Seyed Maryam Mousavizadeh, deputy head of the Board of Directors of the National Union of Quran and Family Institutions and Organizations and the CEO of the Khuzestan Quran and Family Institutions Union explained the programs of Quranic Moukebs in Khuzestan province during the Arbaeen season.
She said the participation of public institutions and coherent planning has paved the way for the provision of services that, in addition to offering food, drinks and accommodation to pilgrims, respond to their cultural and spiritual needs as well.
In addition to welfare services, Quranic Moukebs, relying on the capacity of popular institutions, are trying to turn the Arbaeen route into a platform for promoting the culture of the Quran and the teachings of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), she stated.
Mousavizadeh added that Arbaeen is a unique opportunity to spread the culture of the Quran and the teachings of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS). “Accordingly, efforts have been made to ensure that cultural and Quranic services have a special place in addition to welfare services.”

This year, she said, with more precise planning and more coherent management, the activities of the Quranic Moukebs will be pursued more purposefully than in the past, and pilgrims will benefit from a spiritual and Quranic atmosphere in addition to benefiting from public services.
Referring to the special position of the Shalamcheh border in this cultural movement, Mosavizadeh said Shalamcheh is the first stop for many Arbaeen pilgrims on their way to the holy shrines, and for this reason, the beginning of this spiritual journey must be accompanied by the fragrance and light of the Quran.
She considered the ‘Noor Al-Hadi’ Quranic Moukeb in Khorramshahr a successful example of this approach and said in addition to serving pilgrims, this Moukeb has provided a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere so that devotees of Imam Hussein (AS) can spend moments reciting the Quran, remembering God, and becoming close to the Word of Revelation amidst the crowds on the route.
Mousavizadeh emphasized that the spiritual peace resulting from these programs is a valuable asset for the pilgrims to continue their journey and shows that Quranic activities can play an effective role in improving the spiritual quality of the Arbaeen journey.
Arbaeen is a religious event observed by Shia Muslims on the fortieth day after the Day of Ashura, commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the third Shia imam.
It is one of the largest annual pilgrimages in the world, with millions of Shia Muslims, as well as many Sunnis and followers of other religions, walking to Karbala from various cities in Iraq and neighboring countries. This year, the day of Arbaeen will fall on August 4.
